Hey there. Thanks for all the comment threads from last week – I've been swamped and have barely been able to think about blogging, must less post. Always a good state to be in when one spends a weekend at a conference that attracted a bunch of bloggers, eh?
I've received a ton of email from the latest column, Think Before Pinging Your Ex, almost all of which was in the "thank you, I thought I was the only one" category. It seems that most of us cannot resist the ease and privacy of the information age; where once we had to have the guts to reveal our interest by asking mutual acquaintances about our old flames, now we can follow up on them in secret.
It's the Facebook and MySpace generation that has it the worst, though. They don't even have to look – they get pinged when their friends update photos, blogs, and so on. One man sent me a funny bullet list of what six or seven of his former girlfriends are up to, based on their social networking profiles and blogs and such.
