According to a news report, York University in Canada has become the second campus in the country to allow an employee to use a special room to smoke marijuana for medical reasons.

The university's student newspaper, Excalibur, reports:

Brian MacLean, recently hired as an assistant professor in sociology inJuly, suffers from a severe form of degenerative arthritis thatrequires him to use the controversial substance once every four hours.
As of Monday, Nov. 6, he will no longer be forced to find private areasto medicate himself out of fear he would be stigmatized by students orcolleagues.
