Check the above video, ladies and gents. It's from a new video display at the elevator kiosk of the Ginza Apple Store in Tokyo, with the rising "camera" detailing the features of each of the five floors. It's one of the coolest store navigation tools I've ever seen. There's actually a similar system at work at the new Westfield in San Francisco, which I'll blog about soon (it has a Pod connection...), but it doesn't function as well.
Still, it's incredible what a company with UI expertise superior to anyone else can do with a little sign, isn't it?
