There are a lot of answers to this question, but this is a new one for me: Linux creator Linus Torvalds is a somewhat proud Mac mini owner, ZDNet reports.

And it's not even the first Mac he's purchased.

"I like the design, and it's the right form-factor to be a replacement machine for my wife and daughter, but sadly, Apple screwed up the firmware in various stupid ways," he said.

Apple's switch away from PowerPC hardware was a turn-off for Linus, but it still impresses me that the man who brought Unix-like functionality and reliability to millions of home-built beige boxes has gone Mac – and stayed there.
