#### Ghost World: Pinky and Inky hunt Pac-Man on the streets of Manhattan.
Most gamers want to escape from the real world; the Come Out & Play Festival celebrates games played in it. The inaugural meatspace meet-up revels in massive board games with humans as pieces, flash mobbing, and other alternate reality activities. "They differ in terms of technology used – cell phone, camera, iPods, sticks and balls, GPS," cofounder Nick Fortugno says, "but they're all played in public spaces. There will be games about corporate corruption, bicycling, espionage, and red balloons." Plus, I Love Bees' Jane McGonigal and Pac-Manhattan's Frank Lantz will each reveal new work. The three-day event starts September 22 in New York City. Be sure to bring comfy shoes and leave the PSP at home.
