Sony's Sporty Walkman

Sony announced its sporty Sony Walkman NW-S200 series of compact, lightweight and water-resistant MP3 players targeted at fitness enthusiasts. Among the unit's built-in sports features are an integrated calorie counter, pedometer and odometer; a jog dial lets you change functions easily while your on the move. The "Music Pacer" feature detects the user's pace and selects the music accordingly from premade playlists. You can also set exercise goals so that the music stops playing when your preset time period has lapsed, calories are expended or distance has been travelled. The NW-S200 series will be released in Europe in September.
