I reported in my last Listening Post column that the Sirius Stiletto 100 has a Bluetooth connection, which is not the case. My error stemmed from the fact that Zing, which designed the Stiletto 100 for Sirius, includes Bluetooth in its spec. Apparently, Sirius did not include the feature in the final release version of the device. I sincerely regret the error.

Sirius's omission of Bluetooth does make me wonder why the company wouldn't include it, since Zing offered it as an option (reduction of size and cost is the obvious choice). I wouldn't rule out the inclusion of Bluetooth in subsequent Stiletto devices, or other any other future devices designed by Zing.

As an aside, I also regret (to a far lesser extent, of course) that Engadget, which posted about this correction, didn't pick up on another aspect of my column: Zing's ex-Apple-employee founder having had such a bitter falling out with Steve Jobs. I'll be talking to him tomorrow, now that he's back in the country. (Hopefully he'll tell me when we might be able to expect a Stiletto-type device that actually does have Bluetooth.)

Again, sorry about the mistake.

Update: You can only pre-order the Stiletto at this point; looks like it's not actually available until the end of the month, or early next month. However, TSS-Radio has posted a – video ad for the device if you want to get a closer look.
