London-based Flash developer and designer Mark Caswell-Daniels has created a simple flight simulator using images from Google Maps. It's called Goggles. You (the protagonist) are a dashing WWI-era bi-plane pilot. You can fly around major world cities like London, New York, Berlin and San Francisco as you dive, roll and fire your cannon upon unsuspecting, picture-still civilians.

The game requires Flash Player 8 to play, and it's dead simple, so don't expect too much. If you happen to live in one of the available cities, it's great fun to dive bomb into your house. Yes, you can crash, but only into the ground, not 3D objects. I'll admit I tried to crash into, and then fly under, the Golden Gate Bridge. You can also fly around on the Moon and Mars.

I wouldn't quite call it a mash-up, maybe a Web 2.0 game? How about we just call it a nice time waster and a miracle cure for the Wednesdays.
