Hybrid vehicles continue to sell well overall during this gas price sensitive summer, but some models are doing better than others. June was a boon for Camry, Highlander and Civic Hybrid sales, while the Prius is starting to slip and the Accord Hybrid is about to meet its maker.

Through June, Prius sales are down 10 percent over last year, while Toyota's Camry Hybrid became the 2nd best selling hybrid during the month, with more than 4200 of the vehicles sold. Toyota sold more than 18,000 hybrids, including its two Lexus models.

Civic Hybrid sales jumped 40 percent over last year, while Honda sold 60 percent fewer Accord Hybrids (which I said was overpriced) than last year.

Meanwhile, at (we-love-hybrids no-we-don't well we like them) Ford, sales dropped by 7 percent during June thanks to poor truck sales, while GM sales dropped by (gulp) 26 percent. By July 15 you can expect at least one head to roll at GM.

Neither Ford nor GM reported their hybrid sales as part of their monthly press releases, perhaps out of embarrassment.
