I just received this handy tip in an email from my gym, Club One, on how you can lose weight without cutting calories:

Every time you eat, your body expends energy to digest, absorb and store food. A recent study showed that participants who consumed the same amount of food each day but followed an irregular meal pattern by varying the number of meals resulted in a slowing down of their energy expenditure.

"If you are trying to lose or maintain your weight, establish a regular meal schedule by eating the same time every day," says study author Moira A. Taylor, Ph. D., a lecturer in human nutrition at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom.

The email cited RealAge, which didn't cite the study, but I think this is it. It's not exactly new (from Jan 2005), but new to me... methinks nutritionists have figured out many eating tweaks that could have a big impact, if only we knew about them.
