Gamasutra talks to Electronic Arts Los Angeles' VP Neil Young about Revolution, and Young isn't impressed:
"One of the challenges for the Revolution is that it's not HD. [...] "One of the reasons Battle for Middle Earth II works so well on the [Xbox] 360 is the controller, but the other reason is the HD - you can see everything, frankly, as well or better as you can when you're [as close as you would be to a PC]."
Question here: not even the the Xbox 360 "Premium Pack" comes with a free HDTV inside. So what are all the people playing Battle for Middle Earth on a standard def TV set -- that is, the vast majority of them -- supposed to do? Will the game just not work on their sets? Will it be all blurry and unplayable? What happens?!??!
There was some happy Revolution news today, though. EGM just put their Rev cover issue to bed and editor-in-chief Dan Hsu is excited to all heck.
After working on this article, I must say, I've gone from "excited" to "OMG super-psyched" for this machine. I can't reveal anything right now, but I think the Revolution will put Nintendo back into the game for this next-gen console war. Forget GameCube and Nintendo 64. If Nintendo can get the right developers backing this system for a few years, it will be a winner.
