Given the risk of blowing up our DieHard, we’d just as soon call road service. But the Charge-and-Start ($29) gives us an easier — and slightly less emasculating — option. Just connect the ends to the AC power ports/lighter sockets of the two cars (the device has an 8-foot cable) and you can jump start your car without having to crack the hood. The Charge-and-Start also includes a battery-level digital indicator, LCD voltage display and battery-tester light.
