Before I forget, here's the MP3 of today's Sex Drive podcast.

A bunch of you have written to me to express scorn for the one-burn limit in particular and DRM in general. I'm with you in some respects, but in others, I think we're out of touch with the general population. Most people don't know how to do the things you're telling me about – usenet and bittorrent included.

People are comfortable with DVDs because it's familiar, like an EP, a cassette, a CD. They might not have laptops, which makes it difficult to watch downloaded video on their home entertainment systems (what we used to call "TVs"), even if they're willing to buy the cables.

I'm not sure the Burn to DVD idea, for porn or otherwise, is as doomed as the geek community thinks. But I'll check back in a few months and see how it went.
