n. Diplomatic relations with extraéterrestrials. No official exodiplomats have been appointed, but a few wannabes accuse the US of secretly harboring intelligent aliens and have threatened to take their case to the UN.

Connectome
n. A proposed four-dimensional map of the estimated 1015 connections in the human brain's neural network. In size and complexity, it would dwarf the human genome project.

Virtual sweatshop
n. A business that hires low-paid laborers in Asia or Eastern Europe to play EverQuest and other online games around the clock. The employees earn virtual currencies and goods, which are then sold to lazy gamers for hard cash.

Storyboards
n. pl. Military slang for news stories favorable to US foreign policy that are fabricated by American personnel and placed, for pay, in Iraqi newspapers. The stories are often attributed to the nonexistent International Information Center.
