Google’s PR team ought to sleep a lot less soundly with the launch of Valleywag, the newest addition to Gawker Media’s stable of tart-tongued blogs.

As Gawker takes aim at New York’s media moguls and Wonkette lampoons Beltway politicos, Valleywag will dish NDA-defying dirt on Silicon Valley technorati, specifically their "rising stars, flagrant extravagances, IPOs, sex scandals, and bankruptcies," says editor Nick Douglas.

Who’s he, you ask? Hardly an industry insider. The 21-year-old’s last address was a Christian college in Pennsylvania. Gawker chief Nick Denton admired the blogger’s posts on the navel-gazing Blogebrity and persuaded Douglas to leave school early with a job offer via IM. "Valleywag is the gossip source for geeks who don’t know how badly they need one," Denton promises.

Douglas’ dream scoop: "Larry and Sergey have been having an affair for five years," he says. If only it were true.
