Now here's a technology that Judge Smails (as played by Ted Knight in Caddyshack) would love -- golf carts with GPS systems and dashboard advertising.
UpLink corporation has developed the INOVA system which shows the hole location and images of the course on the dashboard so that wayward duffers don't get lost. "Hey Fred, I'm at N45.97068 W91.56160, where are you?"
The dashboards will include ads (of course), and I bet a food and beverage ordering service is probably only a 2 iron away. The course owners can track where the carts are and how fast they are traveling to prevent joyriding and theft.
This overlooks the most important GPS application that golfers like me could use -- a ball locator!
