Andy Milonakis may not seem like the next Johnny Knoxville, but MTV thinks the prepubescent-looking prankster (he's actually 29 years old) is hosting its next runaway hit. And, as it did with Knoxville, the network stole Milonakis from another medium. The New York comedian used to be just a guy with a digital video camera uploading weird non sequitur skits to the Web. Then late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel became a fan and persuaded MTV to spring for The Andy Milonakis Show, which debuted in June. "Our goal was to lift what we loved about the site and put it on television," says Tony DiSanto, one of the show's executive producers. "We didn't want to change it." Direct-to-video (Jackass) and public access (The Tom Green Show) used to have a lock on MTV's farm leagues. Not anymore. "I feel very lucky and proud that something so stupid and crazy online led to me having my own show," Milonakis says. "God bless the Internet." And God bless creative appropriation. What's next? Podcaster Adam Curry's triumphant return?
