The iT house puts the fab in prefab. And like any it-girl, this transparent home is charmingly dinky and relentlessly stylish - "the Mini Cooper of houses," says architect Alan Koch. The 1,000-square-foot structure is also a snap to build, popping together in about eight weeks from mostly Bosch aluminum framing and insulated, double-paned glass. To add a little privacy and lots of panache, Taalman Koch Architecture enlisted prominent designers to create vinyl skins they call outfits. Plans are under way for homes in both Orange County and Paso Robles, California, where the $175,000 price tag is a steal and exhibitionism is clearly making a comeback.
