Jargon Watch

Buttnumbathon A painfully long and boring movie. See: Oliver Stone's Alexander. (Better yet, don't.) Also the name of reviewer Harry Knowles' annual film marathon and birthday bash.

Hillbilly Armor Steel welded onto vehicles as makeshift armor by US forces in Iraq. Also called "hillbilly steel." The retrofit shops are referred to as "monster garages."

Spam Rage Impulsive, irrational retaliation for unwanted email. After Philadelphia radio reporter Rachel Buchman left an incendiary voicemail for a conservative lobbying group that had been spamming her, she was forced to resign from her job.

Transfer Tubes Bush administration euphemism for military body bags. During the Gulf War, the Pentagon began calling them "human remains pouches" but recently settled on this even-more sterile term.
