With the release of The Urbz: Sims in the City, the best-selling game franchise sheds its Patio Man clichés. Assume the life of a single flaneur and roam subways teeming with mohawked punks or a Little Tokyo rife with neon and overpriced sushi bars. Unlike other Sims titles, which score you on personal fulfillment, The Urbz rewards street cred: Master each clique's lingo and etiquette to gain access to the most exclusive nightspots around town. Developer Maxis looked to actual urban influencers like hip hop stylist Big Smiley and Manhattan event planner Dale Davis to ensure that the virtual piercings and lowriders wouldn't look out of place at a Lot 61 after-party.
