On his bookshelf: Madam Secretary: A Memoir, by Madeleine Albright
"I picked the book up on a whim because, as a father of two teenage daughters, I'm interested in learning about great women. Albright beat my expectations; she is an inspiration. She didn't receive her PhD until age 39, after having raised three daughters of her own. I've always wondered how single parents and working mothers can manage. Albright has the answer: hard work, guilt, and more guilt. Interestingly enough, she had more problems being accepted as a woman of authority in Washington than she did by male government leaders internationally. She has a remarkably clear voice about life, people, and politics."
