For the first time since the '90s, Kraftwerk is planning to tour the US. Its first date in the States: April 26 at Seattle's Paramount Theatre. The German group, whose sterile synth grooves are the DNA of hip hop, techno, and even electroclash, has been hammering out new music in its aptly named Kling Klang Studio in Désseldorf. Its Tour de France Soundtracks, released last year, is more blissed out than anything by Paul Oakenfold - and the excitement should translate to the stage. Even if Kraftwerk members simply stand behind their banks of equipment, the machines will pump out awesome waves of sound. It's a tide few can resist.
