The sheer size of the stage required the development of a microclimate air conditioning system for enhanced ventilation and humidity at the front of the stage, optimal conditions for a singer.lt;br> A virtually infinite range of theatrical special effects is made possible by theater technology that includes 1,200 dimmers controlling 1,365 theatrical lighting fixtures, a multichannel surround-sound system with 139 speakers powered by 180 kW of amplification, 200 acoustical pads (32 square feet each) to control the room acoustics, and six 10,000-lumen video projectors.

Constructed on Las Vegas Boulevard, the Colosseum is loosely inspired by Roman esthetics with contemporary overtones. Attached to the existing casino, the building is 120 feet high and 256 feet in diameter, making it one of Las Vegas’ largest showrooms.

The theater itself is over 170,000 square feet and boasts 4,000-plus seats. The orchestra level has 2,283 seats, with an additional 745 in the first balcony and 1,074 in the second balcony. The 22,450-square-foot stage has an enormous proscenium arch measuring 120 feet wide by 44 feet high (one of the largest in the world).
