Cold weather aside, Lenky is traveling to learn about other people and other cultures. The average differences in life between Russia and Jamaica are pronounced enough, but the differences between this sparce province of Sakha and Lenky’s home 6,700 miles away will be dramatic.

The 15-day rally begins in Yakutsk (red dot), the regional capital in the Sakha Republic, and ends in the tiny village of Oymyakon (blue dot), the "pole of cold," where a temperature of minus 71 was recorded in 1924.
