Those digicam-crazed teens flocking to Tokyo electronics outlets aren't there to buy photo printers – they're using the in-store kiosks to make prints. By plugging their memory cards into Sasoku Print machines, photophiles are turning pixels into stamp-sized decals, postcards, and 3.5 x 5 and 4 x 6 photographs. The process takes a mere 18 seconds and costs as little as 50 yen (40 cents). The vending machines accept all sorts of media – Compact Flash, Memory Stick, floppy disk, CD-R, and more – from digicams and camera phones. The kiosk near the Hiyoshi train station cranks out about 10,000 prints a month. "My friends and I never get tired of taking pictures of each other," says 17-year-old Makika Sudo.
