Terrorists will probably attack the US with nuclear weapons — and there�s not much that technology can do to stop them. That�s what most of the 1,823 recently polled Wired readers said. Some 80 percent think a dirty bomb is likely to be used, and almost two-thirds fear a suitcase nuke. Could an �atomic wall� (see page 160) prevent such attacks? Readers weren�t convinced. Sixty-four percent said terrorists would find a way around it or look for an easier target.
