OK movie, great DVD
Less than six months after Final Fantasy's theatrical debut, its two-disc DVD set arrives to quench PlayStation junkies' obsessions.
The big bonus: an interactive making-of documentary with commentary from game series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi. Although the analogies Sakaguchi draws between his deceased mother and spirituality are intriguing, the 17 spots where segments can be stopped and redirected to more in-depth info really captivated me.
There's also a cool Storyboard/Playblast option that depicts the evolution of sketch into full-fledged animation. The Shuffler mode allowed me to recast the conference room scene - giving it greater melodramatic flair.
The DVD's kicker - a "Thriller" music video with Aki Ross filling Michael Jackson's shoes.
Available from video retailers, including Amazon.com.
