The Gist: Tiny Projector Shows The Big Pictures
$4,995

Among the slick new screeners powered by digital light-processing displays, the MP2800 packs the most innovation into the smallest space. This 3-pound projector shows off laptop-fed business presentations, and its built-in circuitry from video-processing leader DVDO means it also works beautifully for big-screen home theater. It offers all standard inputs, plus S-Video and a Digital Video Interface I/O.

Notes for those who plan to bring it home: The fan is noisy for small screening rooms, and the projector won't show anamorphically transferred DVDs. It can accept and display HDTV signals when mated with a tuner. And I hear the follow-up model will have selectable aspect ratios for regular NTSC video sources like DVD. Overall, this model tops its category.
