A newly minted division of Diamond Multimedia wants to bring mainstream music into the Internet mainstream.

A day after it was purchased by electronics manufacturer S3, the company unveiled its magic formula for bringing the major record labels into the digital fold.

Diamond Multimedia will spin off a new company called RioPort and run it as a wholly owned subsidiary.
