My Early Burglary Years (Reprise)
Morrissey is Prozac Nation's most interesting resident. No therapy for this man; there's nothing wrong with enjoying and accepting a miserable situation. My Early Burglary Years, a collection that includes B-sides and previously unreleased songs (plus a CD-ROM video for the song "Sunny"), features track titles like "Nobody Loves Us" and "I've Changed My Plea to Guilty," which speak volumes about his morbid fascination with gloom and self-pity. Yet the music is teasingly sweet.
He is the king of this sort of contradiction, and this pseudo greatest-hits compilation is the perfect summation of his oxymoronic outlook. His fans are sure to eat it up: After all, Morrissey loves company.
