Jargon Watch

Catch up on the latest lingo. New this month: blackholing and sloppy clickers.

Blackholing: When an ISP or other online service automatically deletes all email coming from a certain domain without delivering it. "Sites have been blackholing all Well email, legitimate or not, because of the quantity of Well-relayed spam deluging their servers."

Form Art: A genre that uses only HTML-coded form elements to create Web-based art.

__Post-Greenspan:__The aftermath of comments made by Federal Reserve chair Alan Greenspan on the US or world economy. "The post-Greenspan euphoria has subsided around of the globe."

Rumint: Short for rumored intelligence. A play on the intelligence jargon humint (human intelligence). "According to rumint, the Air Force will reveal one or two black projects in April."

Sloppy Clicker: Someone who always manages to move screen icons whenever he or she clicks on them.

Wince: Derogatory slang for Windows CE. Anyone who’s tried to find something on one of these lilliputian Windows desktops knows why this is funny.
