KeraVision has come up with a cure for myopia: Corneal Rings that promise permanent near-perfect vision.

If you're nearsighted and lazy, even the minimal effort required to change contacts can be too time consuming. Luckily, KeraVision has come up with a cure for myopia, if not lethargy: the company's Corneal Rings promise permanent near-perfect vision.

Nearsightedness, caused by excessive curvature of the eye, is corrected by two clear plastic half rings that reshape the cornea. "If your vision changes, we should be able to take out the ring and put in a new one," says David Schanzlin, head of KeraVision's implant study.

After FDA approval, the Rings should be available within three years. For the truly slothful, alas, that might as well be a lifetime.
