The eye in the screen is following me around the room! Birdie II, (at right) a whimsical robotic sculpture by artist Alan Rath, senses ambient light and reacts with twitching motions, often appearing to track movement.
Rath, an MIT-trained engineer-turned-artist, infuses all of his technically sophisticated sculptures with human elements. Check out the peepers on Soar Eyes (above). For more on the electronic menagerie of Alan Rath, contact San Francisco's Haines Gallery: +1 (415) 397 8114.
