Tired of trying to wring productivity out of those twentysomething office temps? Try The Electronic Scriptorium, a Virginia-based labor-services company that farms out computer work to 30 monks pursuing ecclesiastical studies at six American monasteries. Not only are the monks squeaky-clean and hard-working, they also come with some pretty impressive references. They've already digitized medical records at Johns Hopkins University and computerized a card catalog at Yale's undergraduate library. Now, they're building an index of 2 million photographs on file at the New York Daily News.
