You can be anyone in Sega's Jurassic Park! You can be Doctor Grant, using stun bombs, tranq darts, and an electric prod to fight deadly dinosaurs. You'll meet pterodactyls, dilophasauruses, and deadly little dinos who chomp at your throat (they won't let go easily). You'll make your way through power stations, swamps, and rivers for the final confrontation with the ferocious T Rex in the Jurassic Park tourist hall. Palms sweating, you'll repeat the same scenarios over and over again until you learn the little trick, the quick move, that will let you move on.

You can be the Raptor next time around, clawing your way through the island, fighting zookeepers and other dinosaurs. You'll munch on turkey legs and annoying little dinos to keep your strength up. You'll play until you escape or until you get a guilty conscience about how long you've been sitting there watching the dinos go through their really great motions. The sprites seem to use digitized stop-motion models, a really novel and effective technique.
An exciting testament to the durability of scrolling games, Sega's Jurassic Park qualifies as an experience that lifts video games out of the time- waster category into a realm where reality blurs electronically and new worlds exist.
