Cyborgasm is really dirty. It's the kind of thing you'll enjoy if you enjoy that sort of thing. It suffers from cognitive dissonance in the packaging area, but the CD itself is dirty fun for guys who like to listen.
Perhaps it is dirty fun for gals, too - I haven't asked. But it seems like a guy thing. It features Susie Bright, Mistress Kat, and Annie Sprinkle, although the accompanying literature is silent on who's doing what. You can kind of figure out which one Mistress Kat is, though. She's the one who asks if you want clothespins on your nipples.
"Cyborgasm sounds so real, you're not just listening to sex, you're having it," says the package. This is not true. The package also says: "Disclaimer: Cyborgasm is a 3-D fantasy anthology. The activities presented here have been created using sonic rendering and digital simulation. Cyborgasm should not be taken as an endorsement of these activities."
I believe the subtext here is: Don't bust us, we're only the pornographers. Still, any disclaimer that introduces the phrase "digital simulation" in the lexicon of smut is not utterly without redeeming social merit.
Cyborgasm has 3-D sound, which means that voices of the performers wander from headphone to headphone. It's like having a very, very restless person talk dirty to you. It also comes with a green condom, which seems a little extraneous. But safe sex is very important; it's good to keep in practice even when you're merely engaging in digital simulation. - Jon Carroll
