In a Disney cartoon I remember, Donald Duck said, "When I grow up, I'm going to have a typewriter that will spell for me." Well, Donald, spell-checkers still aren't perfect, but at least I can get error correction for my speakers.
Hi-fi's latest Holy Grail is digital signal processing, which eliminates speaker distortion. Long Island start-up DGX uses inexpensive speakers coupled with a dedicated processor built into a 100-watt amplifier. The price is great considering the sound compares well with B&W's $5,600 Model 801, the Reference Speaker of the Decade. I really like it.
Digital Deconvolution Audio System: $1,995, DGX: (800) 544 4349, +1 (516) 471 3282.
