At the front of most bookstores is a collection of relatively interesting gimmicky books for impulse buys. I suppose it's a measure of how well digital books have come into their own that collections of QuickTime movies fitting that description are now coming to market. Film archivist Richard Prelinger has culled about twenty glimpses of early pop culture for each of these two CDs and packaged them with strongly opinionated political liner notes. You won't "read" these twice, but they are each a good hour or so of fun. You'll come away thinking about the messages, and will almost certainly play back the best of them for your friends.
